Sick Puppy

Princeton hasn't been himself the last few days. He's been lethargic, not eating, unbelievably gassy, with some diarrhea and vomiting thrown in as well. When I got home from school today, he had developed a case of explosive diarrhea that was all over his crate. Once I got him outside, he proceeded to vomit six or seven times. I called G and he made an emergency appointment at the vet.

It seems our dear Princeton has developed a nasty case of Clostridium Perfringens, a bacteria that takes up residence in the intestines causing all the aforementioned symptoms. He's going to be on an antibiotic, metronidazole, for the next ten days, as well as Pepcid once a day to relieve the gas, bloating, and subsequent nausea.

It's good to know that he has something completely curable and not all that serious, albeit tereribly smelly. Hopefully, our little Princeton will be back to normal by the end of the week.
